On Friday, we will complete the last column in school. Please leave this column empty for their spelling test.

Today’s tasks:
For Maths: can you figure out how many gifts you would be given during the 12 days of Christmas. Watch the 12 days of Christmas song and have a go.
I’ll give you help with the first part.
After the first day you would have 1 partridge in a pear tree.
After the second day you would have 2 french hens and 2 partridges in a pear tree altogether. So you would have 4 gifts altogether after the second day!
Extension questions:
How many birds did you receive?
How many gold rings did you get?
Finally, how many dancing people were you given. (leaping counts as dancing).
English:
Today in school we will be watching Jack and the Beanstalk the Pantomime. If you know the story well and would like to complete the comprehension please do. J & B Online Comprehension.
Otherwise, please create an Acrostic poem based on a Christmas word. Christmas, Santa, Rudolf, Happy Christmas!

Can you make a Minecraft Christmas character?
You will need:
Paper (does not have to be coloured)
Pens
Bits and Bobs to decorate (pipe cleaners, cotton wool, etc.)
Follow the video below to make paper boxes. Stack them on top of each other to make your Christmas character.
Design your own Christmas Jumper by printing out this template – Design your own Christmas jumper or by drawing your own. Make it as funky and imaginative as possible!
You could also print and have a go at some Jumper number colouring.
Make your own evacuee label – Evacuee labels Either print or make your own. Remember the date will be in the year 1939 or 1940, at the beginning of World War 2. Which city have you been evacuated from? Have you been evacuated to Cheswardine?
Can you write a secret message using Morse code? Morse code alphabet Each letter is made up of dots and dashes. / a slash brakes up different letters and // a double dash means new word. Can you translate this: -.– / — / ..- // .-. / — / -.-. / -.-
Air ried shelters:
Look at this Air reid shelter powerpoint. Can you then either print out this Anderson Shelter Model to make an air reid shelter or build your own out of cardboard, bricks, playdough or pillows and blankets?
Art:
In the afternoon, we will be creating skyline paintings of London during the Blitz. The bright red sky lit up the city on fire.
Today, we are completing a reading test today. So please can you have a go at this comprehension. You can compete 1 star, 2 star or 3 star. The answers are included.

This week your homework tasks are on Purple Mash. Log in to Purple mash and complete your 2Dos. The homework is a recap of our learning this week and recap some of your other grammar knowledge from this term.
Year 3, you have 2 2Dos to complete. One is an adverbs quiz, which we have done a lot of work on this week. The other is to recap your consonant and vowel knowledge.
Year 4, you have 2 2Dos to complete as well. You have a task on time conjunctions, which you know really well. Your other task is to check your knowledge of possessive apostrophes (E.G. Jim’s toys were hidden in the back garden. The toys belong to Jim so you need an apostrophe.)
Remember to practise your times tables on TT rockstars or Hit the Button. It’s your choice! Year 3 please continue to work on your number bonds as well.

Continue to read every night. I have been able to give 4 children reading dojos this week for getting to a golden book on our reading tree. For each golden book you can get 5 dojo’s, so it is definitely worth it.
