Whole Class – How do you celebrate a special occasion?

Can you think of any special occasions that you have had in your life? How did you celebrate it? Did you wear special clothes, have special food, or go somewhere nice. Can you write it down and tell me about it?  Imagine we are going to have a party to celebrate the end of lockdown.  What would we need to do this? Can you design a party invitation and tell me what food we will be eating.  Will we need to dress up and where will we have the party?

Maths

Reception – Can you have a go at counting the buttons on the gingerbread man?  There are two activities – one up to 5 and one up to 10.  Start with the game up to 5 and if you think you can do hard things, try the game up to 10.  Afterwards maybe you could draw your own gingerbread man and put some buttons on him and write how many he has.  Remember to write your numbers carefully and correctly. If you are feeling really brave, draw two gingerbread men with different buttons and then try to add them all together by counting them all. Can you do that?

years one and two – today we are counting on, or adding. Please watch the video and then complete the maths work set on Purple Mash.

Year One – log onto Oxford Owl and read Zoom Food and then complete the activities that go with the book. Please read the book yourself and don’t listen to the audio version.

Year Two – log onto Oxford Owl and read Animal Invaders and then complete the activities that go with the book. Please read the book yourself and don’t listen to the audio version.

Year 1 and 2 – Our topic for this term is Animals including Humans. Today we are going to look at what animals need.  Think back to last year – can you remember what three basic needs we said that humans needed?  What basic needs do you think animals have?  Are they the same for all animals?  Watch the powerpoint and then have a go at choosing an animal and writing a list of its basic needs around a picture of it.

Reception – can you think of your favourite wild animal and draw, paint, colour it for me to see.  Can you add some descriptions of it too – yellow, spotty etc for me to read.
