Nursery Activities / Plans Week Commencing 15/05/2023

Plans for activities next week in Nursery. Our topic is still ‘Seaside’ but the children are showing lots of interest in tractors and vehicles so we will be having activities based on those too. These are plans and as such may change due to circumstances or children’s interests.

* Sorting tractors.
*Tractor colouring and sticking.
*Making different sandcastles with sand, different materials.
*Map drawing from Nursery to the seaside.
*Challenge Time (Art) with Reception.
*Make ‘sandcastle’ jelly.
*Make flags for jelly sandcastles.

Christmas!

We have had a fabulously fun Christmas. This week has been amazing! Santa came and left two presents. He even decorated our play house into a grotto! We have made and delivered cards for the village too and then today joined in with the performance of Whoopsy Daisy Angel!

St. David’s Day.

Over the last two days we have explored all things Welsh to celebrate St. David’s Day. We have made Welsh Rarebit and tried leek and potato soup, as well as Welsh cakes. We have looked at daffodil flowers and painted our own pictures and are also saying hello and counting in Welsh now!

Random Acts of Kindness

In Nursery yesterday we shared some ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ with the grown ups in Nursery and School. Our ideas for being kind were making cards and pictures, giving chocolates and using lots of kind words, as well as giving lots of hugs!

HISTORY

On Christmas Day 1914, soldiers in the first world war received a gift from Queen Mary which was a box containing special treats. It was only a small box but it contained cigarettes, lemon drops, a Christmas card and a photo of Queen Mary. If you were to design a box, what would it look like and what would it contain? Design me your box and show me the contents.
