9th February – 13th February

A very busy week!
We started off the week with lots of fun in Nursery garden, getting very muddy!

We have also:

* Learnt about Lunar New Year (including Chinese number painting) and tasted lots of foods.
* Made Valentine’s Day cards.
* Enjoyed big mark making activities.
* Joined in with Forest School.
* Visited the library van.
* Talked about where we belong, including Nursery and home (for Children’s Mental Health Week).
* Had pancakes.
* Done some yoga and workouts.
* Made chocolate treats for Valentine’s Day.

2nd February – 6th February

 

This week we continued our topic of Dinosaurs, particularly focussing on fossils.

We have done:
* Fabulous number work using dinosaurs and cones.
*Some work outs to burn some energy.
* Our first Forest School session of the year had to be inside but we learnt all about hedgehogs and then made some clay ones.

We have also been artists this week making dinosaur fossils with air dry clay and then painting them and today we finished off the week by making some ammonite shaped bread.

26th – 30th January

Another busy week this week! We continued our topic of Dinosaurs and the ‘How to Look After Your Dinosaur’ story.

 

Here’s what we’ve been up to!

*Finding things that help us to look after a dinosaur (in Forest School).

*Sowing seeds to grow dinosaur food.

*Drawing parts of the story on big paper.

*Making dinosaur masks.

*Making banana pancakes.

 

Activities w/c 08.01.2024

 

Next week we will begin to look at farms. Following some of my research we will be doing some of this with Enquiry Based Learning. Here are our plans:

*What do we already know about farms? (EBL)
*Animal cutting and junk box barn making.
*Learning new farm animal themed Nursery Rhymes.
*What do we want to learn about farms? (EBL)
*Challenge Time: Art – mixing colours.
*Farm animal yoga.
*Farm animal sounds lotto.

As always we will do many more child initiated things but along with our phonics sessions these are the planned adult activities.

 

Nursery planned activities week commencing 2nd October 2023

 

The children are going to have a busy week this week with their challenges! They will need to rescue the town, it’s people and Pete the parrot from the evil pea’s friend. This week is a surprise for them so please don’t tell them what we will be doing!

Here’s what they will need to do to save the day:

* Thread some more superheroes to help with our challenge.
*Use our counting skills to rescue some of the town’s people.
*Challenge Time with Reception – exploring colours.
*Make a rocket using ‘tricky’ shapes.
*Woodland Wednesday.
*Make a ‘Superhero smoothie’.
*Make a jet pack to finally get rid of the baddie!

Supertato!

Our topic this term is Supertato and we have really enjoyed the story so far.

We rescued Supertato and his friends and then ate them! We carefully used the microwave and hob to make baked potatoes and boiled potatoes. They were delicious!

Plans for activities next week in Nursery. Our topic is still ‘Seaside’ but the children are showing lots of interest in tractors and vehicles so we will be having activities based on those too. These are plans and as such may change due to circumstances or children’s interests.

* Sorting tractors.
*Tractor colouring and sticking.
*Making different sandcastles with sand, different materials.
*Map drawing from Nursery to the seaside.
*Challenge Time (Art) with Reception.
*Make ‘sandcastle’ jelly.
*Make flags for jelly sandcastles.
