Good morning!!

Here are today’s activities for you.

For flexi fingers, find these things at home:

Tweezers / peg / chop sticks

Pom poms or  dry beans (anything small and sphere shaped)

Ice cube tray or muffin tray.

Now use your tweezers (or whichever you are using from above) to pick up your spherical objects. Then put them into whichever type tray that you are using.

Get back into the fresh air again and find some more sticks. See if you can make a wind chime using these sticks and some wool. Here’s an idea.

Good morning, it’s the middle of the week again!

Here are  today’s activities.

To warm up your fingers grab your leaves from yesterday and put some holes in them. Now find some wool and thread it through the holes in the leaves. When you’re done you should have a little banner decoration. Where could you hang it?

See the source image  See the source image Go outside and find some leaves, twigs and petals. Now see if you can make a picture with what you have found. You don’t even need to glue them down – just find a blank space and use it as your canvas.

Re watch the ‘f’ video from yesterday and have a hunt in the garden or house to see what you can find that begins with ‘f’. My favourite ‘f’ object is flowers! What is yours?

Watch this video and have a go at signing the word ‘spring’.

Good morning everyone!

Here are today’s activities for you.

For Flexi Fingers and number fun today go outside and find some different leaves. Now find a peg or some children’s tweezers. See how many leaves you can pick up with the tweezers. Count how many you start with and then count how many you can pick up. What happens if you take one away? What happens if you have one more? How many are there? Can you draw these numbers on the path or a wall using some chalk?

Now use your leaves to take some rubbings. You can take them from inside or outside! The only other things that you need are a piece of paper and some mark making tools e.g. wax crayons or pencil crayons (wax are best though). Put the leaf you have under the paper and then rub the wax crayon over the paper. It’s just like magic!

Keep some of these leaves for tomorrow.

Let’s warm our fingers up for the day. Find some beads and pipe cleaners. See if you can make a flower with your items.

See the source image If you don’t have beads and pipe cleaners use some sweets and make the flower on a tray or table top.

Today go for a walk and see if you can find any signs of spring.

Can you see any blossom on the trees?

Can you see any birds nests in the trees?

Can you see any green leaves?

Cam you see any daffodils?

Can you see any flower buds anywhere?

Can you see any lambs in the field?

Take some photographs of anything that you find and send them to Class Dojo.

For phonics today use these cards from Phonics Play and either print out or draw some of your own.

printables-welcome-to-the-zoo (phonicsplay.co.uk)

(Increase the speed of the action as you increase the speed of the rhyme.)
Now add in new verses, such as:
Stamp … your … feet … ever … so … slowly
Stamp … your feet faster.

Good morning! We are half way through our last week before half term!

Today to warm up your fingers I would like you to go outside and see if you can find some pine cones. Once you have found them go and get some pipe cleaners or wool and see how much of the pine cone you can cover by wrapping the pipe cleaner or wool around it.

For some phonics fun have a look at this website: Teach Your Monster to Read: Free Phonics & Reading Game

Once your grown up has set you up and logged you in, press play and have a go at the ‘s’ game. This is more suitable for children aged 3+ but it is still a fun game for younger children to go on.

For some number fun see if you can jump six times, clap six times, hop six times and then think of something else that you can do six times. I would love to see some photos.

Good morning!

To warm your hands up have a go at this play dough action song. ‘I like to’ playdough action song – YouTube.

For our Phonics today we will use an activity from the Letters and Sounds document. You will need some musical instruments. If you don’t have any it’s super easy to make your own or use kitchen utensils as instruments e.g. a wooden spoon and saucepan.

Aspect 2: General sound discrimination –
instrumental sounds: Tuning into Sounds.

Adjust the volume:

Sit opposite your child with identical instruments. Ask them to copy making loud sounds and quiet sounds.
Use cues e.g. cards or hand gestures to represent loud or quiet (e.g. a megaphone,
puppet of a lion; a finger on the lips, puppet of a mouse).

For some number fun today we are going to do some Chinese numerals. Use this sheet to help you and get some red and black paint and do your own.

Don’t forget to head over to Class Dojo’s for our daily story.

I have also scheduled a Teams meeting for today at 11:45am. It would be great to see you and don’t forget to bring one of your favourite objects to it!

Good morning and welcome to a new week!

This week we will be looking at Chinese New Year!

Find some paper and some red and black paint. Use your fingers to print onto the paper.

Using shapes to make a Chinese New Year dragon. Use these shapes or make your own.

See the source image   Here is a blue dragon, can you make a red one?

For our Phonics activity today try this activity from the Letters and Sounds document.

Socks and shakers:
Partially fill either opaque plastic bottles or the toes of socks with noisy materials (e.g. rice, peas, pebbles, marbles, shells, coins). Ask your child to shake the bottles or socks and identify what is inside from the sound the items make. From the feel and the sound of the noisy materials encourage your child to talk about them. Ask questions such as: Where might we find shells and pebbles?

Don’t forget to watch your daily story on Class Dojo’s too.

Have a lovely day, Leanne.
