READATHON SPONSOR MONEY REMINDER!

Hello everyone!

Just a reminder that the sponsor money for readathon is due in this week! The children have all been telling me how much they’ve been reading in order to raise money for readathon which is amazing!

If you would rather make your donation online you can do so via the readathon website by clicking on the ‘sponsor a pupil’ tab at the top of the page: https://readathon.secure.force.com/sponsor

If you would like to know more about readathon and the brilliant work they do, this page on their website is very useful: https://readforgood.org/the-difference-we-make/

Thank you for all your support!

Here’s the result of our Foodbank support challenge ……………………………….

CONGRATULATIONS GO TO CLASS 2 for a superb collection total.  Well done!

Every class, including the Nursery, have all collected an amazing amount of items, the best this school has ever achieved!

We would like to thank each and everyone of you for all support in providing items for the Market Drayton Foodbank and thanks also to Reverend Becky for taking all our items (on several visits) to the Foodbank.

This has been a truly amazing community show of support to others less fortunate than ourselves, especially during this current time.  Thank you!

Harvest at St Swithun’s

Reverend Becky has said St Swithun’s will be open for private prayer over this Harvest Festival weekend.

The “Thankful” banner will be on display at St Swithun’s that the children have had a part in creating.

Reverend Becky was so amazed at the amount of items collected for the Foodbank challenge!  The challenge is running until 22nd October and the children are doing a great job.  Thank you for your support.

A message below from Reverend Becky

HARVEST COLLECTION

I am overwhelmed by people’s generous response to the Foodbank Appeal and will regularly take your contributions into the Market Drayton Centre. A small selection of what you have brought, along with the thankfulness bunting the children have made, will be on display in church this Sunday 11th October and next Sunday 18th October (Family Worship – 4pm).

For the attention of Year 6 parents and carers – information from Madeley School

Dear Parents/Carers,

Tuesday 6th October – Spotlight on our core values and curriculum.

We are delighted to start to share with you more information about our wonderful school!

Core Values:

At Madeley, we are proud to be a school that inspires excellence in each individual student. We nurture talents and skills through our core values; values we believe make our students good , well-rounded young people.

Please take 2 minutes to watch our video which outlines what our students have to say about our core values and what they mean to them.

Our departments are also looking forward to sharing with you their more informal introductions to the school , which I believe is an important part of a traditional open evening. These “home videos” will be released over the coming days.

In the meantime, you can find key information about our KS3 curriculum in this document: http://madeleyschool.org/uploads/Open%20Evening%202020/KS3%20Curriculum%20Booklet.pdf

We are proud to have a broad and enriching curriculum and I hope many of the general questions you have are answered here.

Admissions questions:

What else is happening?

We are still contacting some of you personally to answer more specific questions you have raised and we’ll aim to make contact during this designated virtual open week.

If you have requested a tour, please continue to bear with us while we facilitate as many of these as we can safely under the current health and safety restrictions.

Please remember to follow us on Twitter @madeleyschool where we will release other snippets of information about life at Madeley School, including some of our #madeinmadeley alumni who still have found and proud memories of their time at Madeley School.
