URGENT UPDATE Friday 9th January 2026
Cheswardine Primary and Nursery School will be closed today.
The Met office still has a warning for snow in place until 12pm and I do not want anyone to be unsafe due to ignoring this advice.
The LA’s current advice is also to close today so both schools will be closed until Monday. Apologies for this inconvenience.
The children should have work to do and some have teams lessons with teachers at some point today. Hopefully a return to normality on Monday.
Regards, Mrs Williams
URGENT UPDATE Tuesday 6th January 2026
Cheswardine Primary and Nursery School will be closed today due to adverse weather conditions and to ensure the safety of all staff and pupils.
We’re thrilled to share that Cheswardine School has created a beautiful star as part of the “Follow the Star” community festival at St. Peter’s Church, Stoke on Tern.
Our star will be on display in the church alongside creations from local businesses, craft groups, charities, and other schools – all celebrating the talents and creativity of our community.
When can you see it?
Friday 19th December – Church open from 2pm, followed by a Carol Service at 7pm with mulled wine and mince pies.
Saturday 20th December – Displays open from 11am to 6pm, with festive refreshments available.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the festive spirit, admire the creativity of local groups, and spot Cheswardine’s very own star shining bright!
We’d love for you and your family to visit and join in the celebrations.
