Home Learning Tasks – 24/06/20

Good morning, I hope you are all well. Here are today’s tasks.

This week we will be focusing on Julia Donaldson’s story Sharing a Shell which you can access here:

Reception:

English:

What do you think might happen next in the story? Write down what you think might happen and draw a picture to go alongside it. Remember to leave finger spaces between words and full stops at the end of your sentences.

Maths:

We are looking at Time this week. Do you remember that when the big hand is on the number twelve, it is something o’clock?  Can you have a go at putting the hands on these clocks, and then writing what time they say?

Topic:

Coming back to school might seem a little worrying.  Maybe you would like to make a worry doll to tell your worries to?  These are popular across the world and can be made in lots of different ways.

Watch this video from Alistair Bryce-Clegg reading the story Silly Billy and then have a go at making a worry doll for yourself. We’re going to go up to Forest School to see if we can find some great sticks to use and then complete them in the Outdoor Classroom.  Hopefully they will make us all feel better! Don’t forget to share them with us on Class Dojo.

The worry dolls post that I did has been a really popular one, so today I recorded a version of 'Silly Billy' by Anthony Browne. It features Billy, who worries alot, and shows how worry dolls help him.I also feature my worry doll making efforts at the end of the video! Have a look.

This week we are looking at Time.  I know you can remember that when the big hand is on the twelve it is something o’clock but can you remember what happens when the big hand is on the number six? Have a go at these worksheets.
