Reception:

Please do the writing part in your yellow book.

Write instructions for how to make part of the lighthouse keepers lunch. Watch the story again to help you. Remember to use bossy words!

Maths:

Have a go at making an origami boat. There are loads of tutorials on youtube so you could try making more than one version.  Decorate your boat to make it colourful and maybe even give it a name.  Don’t forget to send me your work!

Year One

English:

Back at school

We came back to school today and had lots of fun seeing each other and learning.  We made a collage of the lighthouse keeper’s lighthouse!

Good morning.  I’m hoping it’s not too rainy today and we can go and play outside at school today, it was a bit wet yesterday wasn’t it?

Today’s learning tasks are:

Reception

English: Write a letter to Mr Grinling asking what it is like to live in the lighthouse. Remember to use capital letter, leave finger spaces between words and use full stops at the end of your sentences.

Maths: I loved the jungle animals I saw yesterday. Can you have a go at this treasure map today?

Topic: Draw, paint or make a collage of the lighthouse in the story – don’t forget to include the sky, sea, beach and some sea gulls in your art work.

Year One

English: Write a letter to Mr Grinling asking what it is like to live in the lighthouse. Can you try to ask at least one question?

Maths: Using only the ducks – can you complete the pattern? Remember you don’t need to print this off, you can copy it into your home learning book.

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are all okay and have had a nice half term?  I’m looking forward to seeing some of you again tomorrow in Class One where we will continue the same learning that I’m setting on here.  Today’s learning tasks focus on the story The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch which you can watch here:

 

Reception

English:

Watch the video above and draw and label a picture of Hamish in your home learning book.  Think about what colour and size he is.

Maths:

Draw a bush in the middle of a piece of paper. Draw a lion next to the bush, a mouse underneath the bush and a cheetah in front of the bush. Draw a zebra behind the bush (you might just be able to see his tail poking out) and a parrot on top of the bush.

Topic:

Find out about a lighthouse; maybe one near you.  (There’s one at Talacre). Can you write when it was built and draw a picture of it. Can you find out why we have lighthouses?

 

Year One

English:

Lower Ability

Maths:

Have a try at making the animals turn clockwise and anticlockwise. If you don’t want to cut and stick the pictures, you can draw them yourselves in your home learning book.

Topic – final day to complete all of your very hungry caterpillar work.
