Home Learning – 29.01.21

Good morning. It was lovely to see so many of you on Teams yesterday so well done for making it so early in the morning! Today we will have a session at the end of the day for everyone so I can read you another book by author Mo O’Hara.  Let’s meet at 2:45pm.

Phonics

Reception – lets recap our phase 2 sounds with Jolly Phonics. Remember to say the sound at the beginning and to do the action to help you remember each sound.

We are learning some tricky words today. Tricky words are words that don’t always sound how they are spelt so it is hard to use our phonics to read them. Today we are looking at was and my. Can you try to write these words. What is tricky about them?

Can you read my words?

Years One and Two – lets recap our phase 3 sounds with Jolly Phonics. Remember to say the sound at the beginning and to do the action to help you remember each sound.

We are learning alternative spellings for the ‘n’ phoneme today. Can you read out my words? What phoneme do they all contain? Can you add soundbuttons to them? Can you highlight the ‘n’ sound in each word?

Don’t forget to do your spelling test and send me your scores!

Maths

Reception – 3 or not 3?  Today we are going to look at subitising; I’ve attached a sheet explaining what this means. Watch the powerpoint and decide if it is 3 or not 3 from the pictures you can see on screen. You can then do this practically at home either by using the flashcards or things you have around the house.  Is it 3 or not 3?

Year One and Two – today we are representing numbers to 50. Watch the video and then have a go at the worksheet. Remember it is the same concept as yesterday by making tens and ones but using a part/part/whole model.  Please contact me on class dojo if at any point you are unsure but hopefully the video will help explain things clearly.

Reception – listen to the song about the zoo sending me an animal. Can you draw me a picture of an animal you wouldn’t like the zoo to send you and tell me why and then draw me an animal you would like the zoo to send you and tell me why.  I wouldn’t like the zoo to send me a crocodile because they are too big and scary but I would like the zoo to send me a red panda because they are cute and fluffy!
