Daily Reading

Reading every night (10 minutes)

At our small, friendly village school, we truly believe in the power of reading. We are proud to be ‘Leading in Reading,’ where every child is encouraged to dive into books and get lost in the world of stories. We are delighted that many of our pupils go on to receive awards at County level for their creative writing, which all starts with the love of books. Research shows that early reading not only boosts vocabulary and comprehension but also enhances creativity and critical thinking skills. By fostering a love of reading, we help our children build confidence, expand their imaginations, and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. We also know that reading together at home with parents plays a crucial role in this journey—sharing stories, discussing plots, and exploring new words all help to deepen understanding and strengthen the bond between parent and child. In our school, every book is an adventure, and we’re excited to guide your child on their reading journey, both in school and at home!
