Reception:

Phonics – Play read and race to practise using your phase 3 phonemes. ar, oi, oo, or, ur Read and Race

English – Re-cap the story of the snail and the whale. In the opening scene (The harbour) Can you write a list of adjectives to describe what it is like there. Think about what you can see, hear, feel if you were there or smell. Then write 2 sentences describing the scene using some of the adjectives you have chosen.

Reception:

Phonics- Recap all the phase 3 phonics sounds we have previously learnt (you can always replay some of the phonics learning videos on dojos class story) Then complete EYFS Phonics activity mat 4

English – Watch the story of ‘The snail and the whale’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_8QS_nyzM8  Or read through the story of you have a copy of your own. Then write into the speech bubble to show what the characters might be saying. Think about what they can see or hear.  Snail and the whale speech bubbles

Maths – Make a sand or play dough ice cream. Can you write a price label for it? How much do you want mum or dad to pay for it? 10p 12p or 15p. If you have some coins can you count out which coins you need to pay for it?

Design a new home for our three friends to live it.  You could draw this onto paper and then try to make it with some lego blocks, or junk modelling. Don’t forget to send me some photos what you create!

Time isn’t just about clocks but about ordering events too.  Can you put the pictures into the right sequence (order) to make a jam sandwich?  I’ve also included instructions on how to make fairy bread if you would like to try it?
