Extended Provision

There is an rich extra-curricular programme in which all children are encouraged to participate, according to their interests and capacities.

A variety of clubs are offered throughout the school year, eg film club, international cooking, rounders, netball, football and gardening. Most clubs require a nominal contribution to facilitate the coaching by outside providers. The children are encouraged to participate in inter-school events.

Cheswardine Primary and Nursery School encourages children to cycle to school and gives children the opportunity to participate in the Shropshire Bikeability Cycling Scheme when enough children register to make the activity viable.

When clubs take place after school parents will be notified as to the time when children should be collected. If, for any reason, such a club has to be postponed or end early you will be notified.

We currently have a Breakfast Club that operates Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays for those children who have signed up to it 24 hours in advance.

If a teacher is away it is not always possible to inform you in advance. If a club is suddenly cancelled all children are told that they must remain at school until the normal club finishing time and they will be supervised.
