Admissions Policy (Primary Schools)

In-Year Admissions

From 1 September 2024. Shropshire Council will be coordinating and allocating all requests for places at our school.

If you wish to apply for a place at our school, please complete the online application form via this link – Synergy – Homepage (shropshire.gov.uk)

Your application will be processed by the School Admissions Team at Shropshire Council in accordance with our school’s oversubscription criteria. You will then be notified via letter of the outcome of your application.

The school’s current admissions policy is operated by the County Council as local education authority (LA) on behalf of the school. Information about the arrangements for admission are set out in the “Parents` Guide to Education in Shropshire” copies of which are on the Shropshire Council website

https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/school-admissions/

and held in school for reference. They are also available from:

The Admissions Team,
Learning and Skills,
Shirehall,
Abbey Foregate,
Shrewsbury,
Shropshire,
SY2 6ND.

Whilst it is helpful if parents can let school know at an early date if they would like their children to attend in due course, offers of places can only be confirmed by the LA in the academic year before the child is due to start school.

Mid-year applications are dealt with directly by the school, which will provide the relevant Shropshire mid-year transfer paperwork and confirm a place, please contact admin@cheswardine.school or 01630817640 and ask for details.

Parents considering applying to the school are welcome to visit. Please make arrangements with the Headteacher.

The school works closely with Cheswardine Nursery to provide early years education for children from the age of two, in accordance with regulations in Shropshire’s Early Years Development Plan. Please contact the school office and visit our Nursery for more information and to visit our fantastic site.
