Special friends – 2 or more letters that make 1 sound (for example, ar as in star).
Set 1 sounds – Reception will learn these throughout the year. Year 1 will recap these.
Set 2 sounds – Reception will begin to learn these in their summer term. Year 1 will learn and recap these. Year 2 will recap these.
Set 3 – Year 1 will learn these. Year 2 will recap these.
